West Dene

This scheme comprised the construction of shared housing at two sites located two miles apart.  The development, set within close vicinity of houses constructed in the late 18th century, required sympathetic design in keeping with the rural surroundings and the hamlet setting.  Hilife used local produce from the Estate and integrated traditional flint and sustainable materials into the construction which contributed to the project being awarded a BREEAM Very Good Rating. 

As the scheme was in a rural setting, LPG Cylinders were installed to save on the high costs of installing main lines gas to the site.  This has also proved to be very successful in reducing living costs for the residents.

All units were constructed in line with NHBC requirements.  In addition, the project won the Sussex Heritage Trust Award for a Large Scale Residential.

The scheme was procured under a Framework agreement with the client.
