Innovative Construction
The project involved demolition of an old warehouse and the design and build of 45 flats in a 6 storey building with undercroft parking and a specially designed disability unit to the ground floor. All other units provided within the building were produced to a life time home standards. Mixed terracotta and metal cladding systems instead of traditional external walls, with a highly insulated steel composite roof.
Limited Space
This project was undertaken on a very tight site. The build was on 100% of the area, an island, bordered on three sides by roads and adjoining other residential property on the remaining side. The solution was to use a concrete frame with a timber frame penthouse construction to the top floor.
Cost Savings
The project was contracted under PPC 2000 and was completed with shared savings returned to the client team of £120,000 under the Agreed Maximum Price.
