Mill Hill Court , Deal

This Design and Build project for Orbit Housing Association required the construction of 14 flats within a single two storey block.  The Building is traditional construction with a slated roof.  The scheme achieved a Sustainable Homes Code Level 3 incorporating solar panels to the roof for hot water and heating, the provision of bat and bird nesting boxes and the installation of a rain water harvesting system for use by the neighbouring allotment society.

Despite the project being a challenging build and with critical elements underway throughout the heavy snow earlier this year (2010), the project was completed on time and within budget.  This was due to the excellent working relationships nurtured within the project team, enhanced by the repeat working relationship between Hilife and Orbit Housing Association.

The scheme also included some external landscaping and car parking, some of which has been allocated to the neighbouring Gymnasium.  The scheme was registered with Considerate Constructors for which it was awarded a certificate of compliance on completion.
