Vine Church
Vine Baptist Church is situated in a prominent position adjacent to the well-known Vine cricket ground, with its legendary ‘seven’ oak trees and in a thriving residential area. The church has a growing and evolving congregation that recognises the need to grow and develop with its surroundings, this project is providing a modern and adaptable space to serve the diverse needs of the community with
adequate access and facilities for the disabled.
Hilife’s part in the phased redevelopment and refurbishment of the church has been to build a new extension to the church facing the Vine cricket ground. The extension provides a new entrance including disabled access to all areas, toilets, a Sunday crèche, a new office and many other useful facilities.
The Kentish Ragstone taken from the existing wall has been reused to integrate the new structure with the existing building. In addition, reconstituted feature stonework was sourced for the entrance. The new extension has a slate roof using natural Welsh slate and a Kemper resin based roof system.
